Remember the Squad on this year's Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) #89389

We're always ready to answer the call.

Founded in 1963, the Rescue Squad was the second agency in the state of Alabama to purchase the Jaws of Life, the original and iconic tool for extrication. Since that time, we have expanded our training and equipment to include many other tools and methods of rescue, and we countinue to proudly serve the citizens of Madison County.

We respond alongside HEMSI, Huntsville Fire/Rescue, and other departments throughout the county to provide extrication rescue, water rescue, medical response, or any other assistance requested of us on emergency calls. HMCRSI staffs a minimum of two crew members at our station in Huntsville at all times, ready to respond to emergency calls anywhere in the county. As one of the primary rescue agencies in the county, our crews staff Rescue 1 for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our secondary Rescue truck, along with other support vehicles and watercraft, are always available when needed.

Along with extrication rescue, we also provide the following services:

- Medical Emergency Response

- Water Rescue and Recovery, including Swift Water Rescue and Diving

- Disaster Relief

- Medical Standby for Events
