The Huntsville-Madison
County Rescue Squad, Inc. was organized in 1963 by a small group of concerned
citizens interested in assisting local authorities with the provision of first
aid and rescue services. After originally beginning operations out of an
old school bus, the Rescue Squad members built their first station at 820
Cook Avenue in Huntsville, Alabama.
Today, the all-volunteer Rescue Squad is
based on Cook Avenue and is an active part of the
public safety community, providing rescue services, such as technical
rescue and extrication, water rescue and recovery, rough terrain search
and rescue, and EMS First Response.
