| Early in our history, we became the second agency in the state of Alabama to acquire the Jaws of Life, helping establish a tradition of innovation, preparedness, and dedicated rescue service.
Today, that commitment continues from our Huntsville station, which is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
At least two trained crew members remain on standby at all times, ready to respond quickly to emergencies throughout Madison County. Very few rescue agencies in our area maintain a continuously staffed station, making this around-the-clock readiness one of the most important services we provide to our community.
Our crews operate Rescue 1 as our primary response unit, with a secondary rescue truck, additional support vehicles, specialized equipment, and watercraft available whenever the situation requires them.
We work alongside HEMSI, Huntsville Fire & Rescue, and other emergency response agencies throughout the county. Our capabilities include: • Vehicle extrication and technical rescue • Medical emergency response • Swift-water rescue, diving, and water recovery • Disaster response and relief • Medical standby coverage for community events and sporting activities • Additional emergency support throughout Madison County
Emergencies do not follow a schedule, and neither do we. Day or night, weekends or holidays, the Madison County Rescue Squad remains staffed, equipped, and ready to answer the call.
