Huntsville Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash, Car Found Submerged in Madison County Pond

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirms a Huntsville man died after a single-vehicle crash resulted in a car being submerged in Madison County.
According to ALEA, 61-year-old Daniel A. Nelson was fatally injured when the 2016 Nissan Sentra that he was driving left the roadway, struck a mailbox and a culvert and then entered a pond.
ALEA says Nelson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
ALEA says the crash occurred about 10:30 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 231 near Charity Lane in Madison County.
